To reflect the company's commitment to excellence with increased emphasis and success in a greater variety of service areas, the business is now called Taylor.
History
The company's origins can be traced back to 1892 where in Denmark Street, Harrogate its founder, Mr J W Taylor, enjoyed an excellent reputation for producing high quality joinery work.
Following a move to Mowbray Square in 1905, the present company was incorporated in1927 and, in 1949, was acquired by its current owners, who have continued to uphold the exacting quality standards established by the company's founder over a century ago. Having outgrown its Mowbray Square premises the company relocated to its present address in Ripon Road, Harrogate in 1964.
The company has invested heavily in new equipment over the past few years to provide additional capacity for the manufacture of doorsets and other joinery products.
Expertise
Occupying over 20,000 square feet of modern workshops and office space, Taylor currently employs skilled machinists, apprentice trained bench, assembly and site joiners whose knowledge and expertise has been acquired over many years in the business.
By actively promoting a policy of training apprentices, with an average intake of four per year, Taylor is able to ensure that the traditional skills of its time-served craftsmen and its strong reputation for quality are maintained well into the future.
